My take on our stay at Nick Hotel in Orlando, Florida

Nick Hotel in Orlando, Florida, is the perfect destination for a family with young children ages 4-13 years old. If you fall outside of this demographic, please do yourself and your sanity a favor, and don’t go. That said, if you do have children ages 4-13 years old who have even the slightest inkling of who is any character on any Nickelodeon show, make your reservation today.

Nick Hotel, Orlando, Florida

Seriously.

For our family of four, two of us being 4 years old and almost six years old, it was paradise. Perfection served up in neon orange and green with a side of slime. I was offered a night’s say at Nick Hotel to experience the resort from a guest’s point of view, and with that stay included two full days of everything Nick. We arrived at the hotel around 1pm on our arrival day, and we left around 4pm on our departure day. Needless to say, our kids were zonked by the time we made it out of the parking lot. Nearly 2 full days of everything Nick can be a big energy suck for kids. Side note: SCORE!

Three entirely separate water features (two pools and one 3-story-tall water maze) are on property for hotel guests only. When we stayed in the middle of summer, it was crowded inside the pools, and it was difficult to find just one lounger for our pool-side towels. I would HIGHLY suggest visiting the resort during off-peak times of the year, or at least not visiting June-August if you can help it.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom suite over-looking the larger pool and water maze/slime bucket themed after SpongeBob Squarepants. The “master” bedroom included a king-size bed and flat-screen TV, while the other “bedroom” was a room with bunk beds, but it did not have a way to close off the room. I would have to say, I would have liked to have had a way to close the kids’ room off from the light of the living room in the evenings. I liked having the extra space of a small living room, but not being able to close it off from the kids’ room at night made for an early bed time for us adults.

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nick Hotel in Orlando. As a local, I’d love to visit again (if just to stop my kids from asking 3 times a week when we can go back), but I’ll be checking out the discounted rates. The all-suites hotel is on the pricier end of hotel rates, but for about $200/night, you’re getting a lot for your money. From the 3 water attractions to the character shows to everything Nick, I’d say Nick Hotel a good bargain for the rate.
